How we started.

The founder spent 12 years driving for a national breakdown service before starting Car Recovery in London in 2014. The motivation was straightforward: the national service model - subcontracting London jobs to whichever local operator would accept the lowest dispatch fee - was producing 90+ minute response times in a city where 30 minutes is genuinely possible. The structural inefficiency was being paid for by customers as longer waits and higher prices.

Eleven years later, we operate a fleet of fully Euro 6 ULEZ-compliant recovery vehicles from a Central London base, employ technicians directly (not as subcontractors), and dispatch from a single control room covering the whole capital. Our average response time is 35 minutes - a number we measure monthly and publish honestly. Our pricing is fixed before any driver leaves the depot. Our drivers are paid the same regardless of how many jobs they do per shift, which removes the perverse incentive to rush.

What makes us different.

Three things, structurally:

1. Direct employees, not subcontractors. Every driver in our fleet is on our payroll, with the same hourly rate regardless of job count. This means no incentive to cut corners on any specific job to chase the next dispatch.
2. Euro 6 ULEZ-compliant fleet. Every truck we operate meets the highest emissions standard, which means we don't pay ULEZ daily charges and we don't pass them onto customers as zone surcharges.
3. Single Central London dispatch. All jobs are managed from one control room at our Tower Hamlets base. There's no national subcontractor network in between you and the driver who shows up.

• Breakdown Recovery - from £120 off-peak, cars under 1,700 kg, 8 miles included.
• Van Recovery - from £180 unloaded, £280 loaded, VAT invoices same day.
• Battery Replacement - from £250 fitted, AGM/EFB/standard, OBD coding included.
• Premium Car Transportation - from £450, enclosed trailer, Ferrari/Lambo/McLaren/classic.
• Auction Pickup - from £350, BCA/Copart/Manheim/private, non-runners accepted.

From the City of London (EC1-EC4) and Westminster (W1, SW1) through inner-zone boroughs like Camden, Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lambeth, Kensington & Chelsea - and out to outer boroughs like Croydon, Bromley, Enfield, Havering, Hillingdon. We also cover the M25 between J25 (Enfield) and J30 (Lakeside).

What we stand for.

• Honest pricing. The price quoted at booking is the price paid on arrival. No surcharges, no waiting time, no ULEZ uplifts.
• Real response times. 35-minute average isn't a marketing claim - it's measured monthly and we'll show you the data on request.
• No upselling. If a jump-start fixes the issue, that's the bill. We don't push battery replacements when a £80 boost has solved the problem.
• Local employment. Our drivers live in London and serve London. The economy of the recovery work stays in the city.
• Transparency. Every receipt is itemised. Every photo we take is shared. Every review (good or critical) is published unedited.

Insurance and credentials.

We hold full operator licences and insurance for the entire scope of work we offer:

• Public liability: £5m
• Goods-in-transit: £150,000 per vehicle, with top-up available
• Trade plates: for moving customer vehicles during recovery
• VAT registration: business customers can VAT-reclaim recovery costs
• TfL recovery operator: registered for ULEZ and Congestion Charge zone exemption
• DBS-checked technicians: all customer-facing staff
