Car Recovery London - Live 2025 Pricing

What's included in every price.

Our prices are fixed-in-advance totals, with everything bundled. The starting price is the price you pay for the most common version of the job - no separate call-out fees, no extras layered on for normal scenarios.

• Recovery vehicle dispatch and arrival
• On-site diagnostic - we don't charge separately for working out what's wrong
• Loading and securing - including soft straps for prestige vehicles
• Up to 8 miles of recovery distance for the £120 breakdown rate
• OBD coding on every battery fit (where the vehicle requires it)
• Charging-system check on every jump-start and battery fit
• Photo documentation of pickup and delivery for prestige and auction jobs
• VAT invoice on request, same-day for business customers
• ULEZ fees - included, not surcharged (we run a Euro 6 fleet)
• Congestion Charge - included during live recovery (we are exempt)

What might add to the price.

Some scenarios genuinely require additional cost; we always quote any extras up front before dispatch:

• Recovery distance over 8 miles: per-mile rate quoted at booking (typically £3-£4/mile depending on route).
• Out-of-hours dispatch (midnight-6am): small uplift on standard rate, quoted before any driver leaves.
• Loaded van vs unloaded: £280 vs £180, depending on cargo.
• Insurance top-up for cars over £150,000: single-trip top-up cover at our underwriter cost (£30-£100 typical).
• Cars over 1,700 kg: Premium Transport rate from £450 rather than the standard breakdown rate.
• Specialist trailer (low-clearance, super-low car): may add £50-£100 depending on availability.

Compared to membership cover.

For drivers who do under 10,000 miles a year and break down less than once a year on average, pay-as-you-go pricing tends to come out cheaper over a 5-year period than maintaining national membership cover. See our detailed analysis in "How much does car recovery cost in London (2025)".

The break-even maths

• AA Joint cover (2 vehicles, full): ~£204/year × 5 years = £1,020 in subscriptions.
• RAC Standard cover: ~£180/year × 5 years = £900 in subscriptions.
• Pay-as-you-go with us: 2-3 typical breakdowns over 5 years × £120-£250 = £120-£500.

For high-mileage drivers (15,000+ miles, frequent motorway use, older vehicles), membership cover often makes financial sense. For typical London urban drivers, pay-as-you-go is usually cheaper.

Service area pricing.

The same prices apply across all 32 London boroughs. We do not charge zone surcharges, distance uplifts, or borough-specific fees. The only price variable is recovery distance over the included 8 miles, which is quoted at a fixed per-mile rate.
